THE SUNBATHERS

This collection reminded me of growing up in Southern California, where literally in the summer, we hopped on a bus (before we could drive) and headed down to Huntington Beach. My friends and I would stay ALL DAY.... this collection brought me back to those times with every piece I painted.

​

 With this first collection of 2023, I was particularly interested in using the red background with figures and how painting bright sun on them captured the mostly geometric figures in the sculpting of the forms.  

 

Sunbathers is aimed at the coastal living but hopefully can be injoyed anywhere you live and a reminder of all the fun there is to be had by going outside enjoying God's creations.
